Art School

2020-04-07 21.02.00.jpg

My teaching theory is Montessori-inspired, allowing for self-exploration with gentle guidance. Students are encouraged to work on what they want while I try to help them see what is happening or could happen with their artwork.  It is important that students enjoy themselves, but also learn what the medium or technique can do and how to apply that to their ideas.

  • Youth Art School focuses on drawing and painting.

  • For painting, oil paint is used so students need to be mature enough to keep the paint off their skin. Latex gloves are available.

  • Lessons are Tuesday and Thursday 4:15-5 pm. Each lesson is 45 minutes.

  • Pick up and drop off is in the alley behind Snow Deep Designs at 326 Main St.

  • Students may attend one or both sessions for the cost of the week. Missed days are non-transferable.

  • Cost is $25/week, for a minimum of 6 weeks, or $150. The 6 weeks can be non-consecutive. This allows a relationship to develop between myself and the student.

  • Lessons are semi-private with a maximum of 4 students. This allows for relationships to grow between students as well.

  • Fee includes all brushes, paint, pencils, paper, medium, palettes, easels, etc.

  • Students furnish canvases for painting.
